Year 4 AsTTLe Information Evening

Attention all Year 4 parents: Next Wednesday 22 June there will be an information session to unpack AsTTLe testing. AsTTLe (Assessment Tools for Teaching and Learning) provides a "snapshot" - one test on one day of a child's learning in literacy and maths.
This session will be an opportunity for you to look at these tests and how to interpret the results. It will be held in Discover between 5.00 and 6.00pm.

Easter Break

How fantastic to have 5 whole days away. Ms B made the most of it and went tramping at Aoraki Mt Cook. She also acquired a new family member!!!

Chill time in discover

In Team Discover we use devices for learning things like mathletics, spelling and finding out information for our inquiry. 

  

We can watch things to help our learning, or show others in our team what we have made through our team TV.

People do their 100s sheet. 

We practise our spelling.

We try to show our learning in lots of different ways.

   People do their hand writing.

Jamie Oliver Food Revolution

Team Tuhura have had a great day making squashed vegetable sandwiches with the help of Ms. B and Jamie Oliver.

First we watched and learnt from Jamie how to chop up all the vegetables.

Once we cut everything up we mixed all the vegetables together with herbs and sauces.

Then we got to make our own sandwiches. To help them stay together we used hummus, cream cheese and cottage cheese.

Our sandwiches tasted AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Mufti Day next Tuesday

Amiria (from Aspire) is organising this fundraiser for the people of Nepal. After yet another Earthquake yesterday they NEED our help. Next Tuesday (19 May) will be a mufti and wacky hair day. Please bring along a gold coin to donate. Ohoka, Fernside and Swannanoa Schools are doing something similar as well and we are combining all of our money raised and donating it to Unicef.

ICAS Competitions

ICAS competitions are an optional challenge for Clarkville students. There are six options available and the sitting dates run from May to August. All six options are available for Year 4-8 students, and Year 3 students are able to sit English and Mathematics.

Notices went home with some children today. If you would like your child to take part and he or she doesn't have a notice, we can provide one on Monday.

Registration forms and payment need to be returned to the school office by Thursday, 2 April. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or to our online bank account.
