No! to Noise

Today in Science, we created 'ear muffs' to see which materials were the best at blocking out sounds. We talked about how this is linked to noise pollution and things like sound-proofing. Here are some of the photos from our experimenting:

Discover Camp update (as at 15:30 Wednesday):

Discover Camp update (15:30 Wednesday)
Camp is now POSTPONED until Wednesday 20 November - Friday 22 November.  The camp is still without power and drinking water and they cannot tell us when it will be back.  Activities have also been closed and will be unable to run including the go kart track and the flying fox.

This means that the rest of this week is business as usual (including school uniforms!)  Thanks for the patience and please pass on this message to those who may not have access to the Internet due to power outages.  Thanks Lynley, Sue and Amy.

Drinking bottles

Due to some issues with our filtration system, our drinking taps are not currently working.  All children will need to bring their own water in a bottle from home until further notice.

Thanks

Exciting Science

We have had more of Mrs Edwards amazingly crazy and fun science experiments. Our walls are overflowing with writing. Come and check it out. Here's a taste of what you will find.

 GLOOP
We poured the mixture on and then slowly poured the water in. Then it turned gloopy, slimy, cold, hard and hot. We all thought that it was spectacular. We also got to take some home.

 THE MILK EXPERIMENT
The milk was plain and boring in the bowl with nothing in it. But then we put some food colouring in and the orange and blue started to get close together.
Then we got a cotton bud plain with nothing on it and put it in one spot and it was going out and out and it started to make a whole in the colours. After that we got another cotton bud and put dish washing liquid on it and put it and then we put it in and it spread away as fast as a rocket and if you swirled it the colors would make a pattern. I think it did it because I don’t think the food colouring didn’t like the dish washing liquid. BY LILY SMITH
